FEATURE: Chris Wondolowski ranked No. 23 on list of top-selling adidas MLS jerseys

Major League Soccer announced today the 25 best-selling jerseys in MLS during the 2017 season, with Quakes forward Chris Wondolowski making the list at No. 23. 

Atlanta United FC midfielder Miguel Almirón topped the list followed by Chicago Fire’s Bastian Schweinsteiger (2), Atlanta United’s Josef Martinez (3), Seattle Sounders FC forward Jordan Morris (4) and NYCFC’s David Villa (5).

Fifteen different countries are represented by the 25 players’ birthplaces, including Argentina (Diego Valeri, Hector Villalba, Yamil Asad), Brazil (Kaká), Colombia (Diego Chara), Cuba (Osvaldo Alonso), England (Jack Harrison, Dom Dwyer), Germany (Bastian Schweinsteiger), Italy (Andrea Pirlo, Sebastian Giovinco), Liberia (Darlington Nagbe), Mexico (Giovani dos Santos), Panama (Román Torres), Paraguay (Miguel Almirón), Spain (David Villa), United States (Jordan Morris, Clint Dempsey, Christian Ramirez, Greg Garza, Cristian Roldan, Chris Wondolowski, Graham Zusi), Uruguay (Nicolas Lodeiro) and  Venezuela (Josef Martinez).

As usual for the Quakes captain, he set and broke both club and league records in 2017, some of which he established himself the year prior. 

With 13 goals this season, he extended his league record of scoring double-digit goals to an eighth consecutive season and tied Jeff Cunningham for second most goals in Major League Soccer history with 134. Wondo also broke Landon Donovan’s record for most road goals, scoring his 64th against the LA Galaxy on Aug. 27. For the Quakes, Wondo broke the club appearance record with 256, surpassing Ramiro Corrales’ 250.
