As the Earthquakes most prolific all-time scorer, Chris Wondolowski has become the Achilles heel of many opponents. With 119 career goals, his name is prominent across the record books and he’s near the top of leading scorers against several clubs. Though he’s showed to have high levels of success league-wide, his dominance is showcased against a few teams even more than others, including the Colorado Rapids.

With 10 career goals against the Rapids, Wondolowski trails just Landon Donovan (13) for the most amongst all active players, with no one else reaching double digits against the club. He is also tied for fifth on the all-time leaderboard against the Colorado side.
A feat in itself, Wondolowski has been able to sustain his success against the Earthquakes’ Western Conference foe long-term. In the past eight seasons, the captain has scored at least once against Colorado every year except one, including a goal earlier this year in the season opener at Avaya Stadium. Though he has showed he can score against the Rapids at home, surprisingly most of his goals have come on the road. Of his 10 goals, seven have come at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, counting a goal last season.
Colorado is currently among four clubs Wondolowski has scored double-digit goals in his career against. If he finds the net at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park again on Saturday, he will add yet another career milestone to his already impressive resume: The 11 goals would mark the most Wondolowski has ever scored against a single club.
With the playoffs still within reach for the Earthquakes, Saturday’s road matchup in Commerce City could be the most important game of the season thus far for the club. Luckily for the Quakes, their captain and leading scorer knows just what it takes to grab points at DSG Park.
