Over the weekend, San Jose Earthquakes Homegrown Cade Cowell was called up to the Quakes’ USL affiliate Reno 1868 FC for their road match against San Antonio FC. Leading up to the match, Cade discovered that he would not only make his debut with Reno, he would make his first start with a professional team.
The 15 year-old made no hesitation in the attack, taking advantage of San Antonio’s crucial mistake in their defensive third.
As Cade continues to train with the Quakes' first team, more opportunities may arise for the young forward to head to Reno to earn more professional minutes. In the meantime, Cade is participating in matches with the U-17 Quakes Academy squad and may join them for their U.S. Soccer Development Academy Showcase matches later this June.
