Earthquakes midfielder Anibal Godoy is one of three Quakes players at the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup, joining his teammates Darwin Ceren and Marco Ureña as they each represent their national teams in the tournament.
Godoy and the Panama National Team started off the tournament on Saturday, July 8 at Nissan Stadium, facing the U.S. Men’s National Team.
Godoy played the full 90 minutes in the match against the U.S., which resulted in a 1-1 draw.
The Panama and the United States previously faced each other in the third place match of the 2015 Gold Cup, where Los Canaleros defeated the U.S. 3-2 on penalties.
Panama also faced Nicaragua on Wednesday, July 12, earning a 2-1 victory.
Panama are currently tied for first place in Group B with the United States with four points and a 1-1-0 record.
They will face Martinique on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the final game of the group stages.
