Each home game, the Earthquakes select a Season Ticket Holder to be this week's Fan of the Match, presented by Avaya. The lucky fan is presented with the amazing opportunity to experience warmups from field level, sit on the team bench, get a bag of free Earthquakes merchandise, and last but not least, meet a player for a photograph right after warmups! This week's fan of the match is Patrick Maiorano (pictured right above).
SJEarthquakes.com: What’s your background in soccer?
Patrick Maiorano: I am a late bloomer. I started playing soccer in 2006 and have been an avid player and fan ever since.
SJEQ: Who do you normally take to games with you?
PM: My son, Enzo.
SJEQ:Describe the community of San Jose Earthquakes fans, maybe with those that sit around you?
PM: Great group of fans near me and we have become great seat mates, sharing insights on each and every game. Always nice to see familiar faces.
SJEQ: What’s been the best part of the move to Avaya Stadium?
PM: Just a great stadium. Well thought out, good food, good experience for kids as well. Not a bad seat in the house.
SJEQ:Best moment of 2017 so far?
PM: Seeing Quincy Amarikwa make it back onto the pitch after recovering form his injury. Exciting player and look forward to seeing him form partnerships with other new players. Secondly, seeing our family name on the dedication wall.
