SAN JOSE, Calif. –
The San Jose Earthquakes will host Pride Night at Avaya Stadium on Friday, July 8, presented by Shane Co., to recognize and support the LGBTQ community during the team’s match against FC Dallas. It marks the fourth season in which the Quakes have hosted a pride event.
In support of the LGBTQ community, the Earthquakes will donate $1 for every ticket used at the match to a variety of charities, including the OneOrlando Fund, Project MORE Foundation, the Billy DeFrank Community Center, LGBTQ Youth Space and the You Can Play Project. The donation could grow to as much as $18,000.
“The Earthquakes organization is proud to support the proud LGBTQ community here in the Bay Area and around the world for the fourth straight year,” said Earthquakes President Dave Kaval. “We’re excited to support a number of outstanding local organizations that are making a real difference.”
The match will feature an opening ceremony presentation honoring the victims of the tragic events in Orlando, Florida, as well as the local LGBTQ community. There will be an LGBTQ resource fair in the 7UP Epicenter Fan Zone to offer and introduce health and wellness resources, social and recreational clubs, youth resources, and support service. Shane Co. will also present a Newlywed Game contest at halftime.

Inspiring vocalist Scott Gardner will sing the National Anthem and the game’s first goal will be kicked by radio personality and former Earthquakes sideline reporter and Bay Area sports media personality Kate Scott. Both Gardner and Scott are open and proud members of the LGBTQ community.
Special Pride Experience tickets are available, which includes a commemorative scarf for the first 300 fans and a postgame meet-and-greet with Earthquakes President Dave Kaval.
