After leading the Earthquakes U-16 Academy to a 2-1 win against Crossfire Premier this past weekend at De Anza College, midfielder Andrew Paoli was named U.S. Soccer Player of the Week, the first San Jose academy player to receive the honor in 2016.
Paoli, wearing number 36 in the central midfielder, dictated the run of play in the middle of the park during Saturday's 0-0 draw against Vancouver Whitecaps FC and scored in Sunday's 2-1 win over Crossfire Premier. With the win against the second place Premier, the U-16's are in sole possession of fourth place in the Northwest Division.
Paoli, a San Jose native, was called to his first U.S. Youth National Team camp this past January.
