You’re officially a Quakes Devotion Scarf recipient! Explain what it means to you to get this honor?
“It's come to me as a big surprise from the Quakes staff. For me, it’s truly an honor to be recognized by the Quakes and the organization. Truly amazing and I'm very thanksfull for this honor.”
Talk to us about your Quakes fandom. How long have you been cheering on the black & blue? What is your most memorable moment?
“I have been watching the San Jose team ever since I arrived in this country in 1990. One of the most memorable moments was the Quakes game in the 2003 playoff season when we played the LA Galaxy in the semifinal. We were losing 2-0 to LA in the first leg then we crushed them 5-2 during the second leg to advance to the next round. We later won the MLS Cup that year.”
Who is your favorite Quakes player and why?
“Back in the old days during the San Jose Clash times, I was a big fan of Eric Wynalda, John Dole, Troy Dayak, and Eddie Lewis. Then it was Landon Donovan and Joe Cannon. As of right now, Wondo and Tommy Thomson are my favorite players. They are fun to watch, great team players, and have good personalities. I hope with the good leadership of our current Quakes players we will have many more, good young players in the near future for our San Jose team as well as the US national team.”
What would be your message to Quakes fans out there?
“Come and support our local soccer teams. I have been working with the Quakes staff to organize the Vietnamese Heritage Night which we have done the past 11 years and we will be continuing with more in the future. San Jose Earthquakes have given many things to the communities especially the youth groups and the younger generation. The coach, the academy, and the players have all been doing a great job hosting the soccer clinic. It's means everything to the communities. I really want to thank you, the San Jose Earthquakes, for all the hard work as well as giving me all these opportunities. Go Quakes!”
