On the first day of fall, the first four seats were installed.
That was the punch line on this date in 2014 as the San Jose Earthquakes installed the first four seats in Section 101 at the club’s brand-new, state of the art stadium on the corner of Newhall Drive and Coleman Ave.
Joining Quakes president Dave Kaval and defender Clarence Goodson to install the first seats at the stadium was longtime season ticket holder Debbie Freeman, former Quakes midfielder and current club color commentator Chris Dangerfield and Cometic Seating senior vice president Ken Griffths.
“I was very honored that they allowed me to install my first four seats,” Freeman said. “We’ve had four seats that we’ve been coming since 2010 as season ticket holders.
“These seats are extremely comfortable. I’m used to sitting on a darn bench. This is a huge improvement. This is very, very cool.”
