August 21, 2010: Geovanni debuts in California Clasico
The Earthquakes agreed to terms with their first Designated Player in club history on Aug. 16, 2010. Five days later, he came off the bench in the 72nd minute with the Earthquakes leading 1-0 against their Southern California rivals, the LA Galaxy. Geovanni and the Quakes held on for a key win as the club pushed toward the MLS Cup Playoffs.
