The U-13, U-14 and U-15 Boys’ Academy teams took on Ballistic United on Saturday, March 10. The U-13s tied 2-2, the U-14s tied 2-2 and the U-15s lost 3-2. Next Saturday, March 17, the U-13s and U-14s face Placer United and the U-15s, U-17s and U-19s will face Vancouver Whitecaps FC Academy. On Sunday, March 18, the U-15s, U-17s and U-19s will face Crossfire Premier.
The Girls’ Academy teams took on Lamorinda Soccer Club on Saturday, March 10. The U-14s won 8-0, the U-15s won 4-0, the U-17s won 6-1 and the U-19s lost 5-0. Next Saturday, March 17, the Girls’ Academy will take on PSV Union Football Club.
In other news, three U-15 Boys’ Academy players have been called up to the U-16 U.S. National Team camp in Carson, Calif. Midfielder Diego Luna and defenders Israel Carillo and Casey Walls will represent the Earthquakes Academy in the 36 player pool chosen by Head Coach Shaun Tsakiris. During the eight day camp, the U-16 USNT will take on mixed-age squads from LA Galaxy and Liga MX’s Club Tijuana.
The Generation adidas Cup will begin March 23 in Frisco, Texas. The Boys’ U-17 Academy squad will participate in Group C of the Premier Division which includes the Chicago Fire, New York Red Bulls and Tigres UANL. The Generation Adidas Cup is a 10 day event that features 20 MLS academies and top-tiered international squads, including Real Madrid, Tigres UANL, C.F. Monterrey, C.A. River Plate, Pachuca, A.S. Monaco FC, Club Tijuana and Eintracht Frankfurt. The Earthquakes Boys’ Academy U-12 squads will participate in the 7v7 Generation Adidas Cup which starts on March 23 and lasts three days.
