San Jose Earthquakes Homegrown Player Jacob Akanyirige was named to the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Boys West Conference Best XI. Akanyirige, 17, trains with the San Jose Earthquakes first team and has featured on numerous occasions for Reno. Akanyirige started and played the entire first half in Reno 1868 FC’s 4-0 victory over Rio Grande Valley FC.
San Jose Earthquakes Girls’ Academy U-15s player Yuna McCormack earned the 2019 U.S. Soccer Girls Development Academy Championship Golden Ball, awarded to the best player of the tournament.
