The San Jose Earthquakes Boys’ Academy U-19 and U-17 squads had a busy week participating in the 2017 U.S. Soccer Boys’ Development Academy Winter Showcase. The showcase brought all full academies together for a series of games at Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. from Nov. 30-Dec. 4.
The U-19s went 2-1-0, earning a 1-0 win over Orlando City SC on Thursday, Nov. 30 and a 2-0 victory against North Carolina FC Youth on Friday, Dec. 1 before falling 2-1 to the Chicago Fire on Sunday, Dec. 3.
The U-17s went undefeated with a 2-0-1 record at the tournament. They earned a 4-1 win against Virginia Development Academy on Friday, Dec. 1, tied 2-2 with Crew SC Academy on Saturday, Dec. 2 and defeated the Chicago Fire 5-4 on Monday, Dec. 4.
Both U-12 squads had a successful weekend earning 5-0 and 3-0 wins against Star Academy FC. The Boys’ Academy will return to action in January.
The Quakes Girls’ Academy did not have any games last weekend in preparation for their U.S. Soccer Girls’ Development Academy Winter Showcase, running from Dec. 6-10 in Lakewood Ranch. On Wednesday, Dec. 6 the U-15s will face Sky Blue - NYSC. On Thursday, Dec. 7 the U-17s will play the Michigan Hawks and the U-19s will face FC Kansas City. On Friday, Dec. 8 the U-15s will play Indiana Fire Academy. On Saturday, Dec. 9 the U-15s will face the Houston Dash, U-17s will play Oakwood Soccer Club and U-19s will take on Weston FC. On Sunday, Dec. 10 the U-17s will play Charlotte Soccer Academy and U-19s will face PA Classics.
