ACADEMY UPDATE
This past week, our U-17 and U-19 Boys’ Academy squads traveled to Florida to take on top-tiered competition in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Winter Showcase. The U-19s defeated the Houston Dynamo 3-0, tied D.C. United 0-0 and suffered a 3-2 loss to Saint Louis FC. The U-17s suffered 2-1 losses to both Empire United and Columbus Crew SC, and fell to the Houston Dynamo 4-1.
Back at home, the U-13 and U-14 Boys’ Academy squads took on San Juan SC. The U-13s won 4-0 and the U-14s won 5-1.
The Girls’ Academy will return to action this week when they head to Florida to start their USSDA Winter Showcase campaign. During the course of the competition, the Earthquakes will take on New York City FC, IMG Academy, Tophat, FC Virginia, Real Colorado, Sporting Omaha, FC Fury and Sporting Blue Valley.
