The U-17 and U-19 Boys’ Academy teams have completed the 2019 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Winter Cup with a combined 5-1-0 record. Both Quakes teams aimed to win their Winter Cup groups in order to advance to the 2020 Spring Cup, the final stage of the DA Cup.
The U-17 Boys won all three of their matches, defeating FC United 3-2, FC Westchester 4-1 and Solar Soccer Club 4-2. With a perfect 3-0-0 record, the U-17s finished first in their group to advance to the Spring Cup.
The U-19 Quakes were just shy of a Spring Cup berth after suffering a 2-0 loss to Miami Rush Kendall SC in group play. Despite beating the Philadelphia Union 2-1, the U-19s finished behind the MLS side and were knocked out with a second-place finish.
The USSDA Spring Cup will take place April 29 – May 4 of 2020 with more details to be announced closer to the competition.
