SAN JOSE, Calif. – Earthquakes II has acquired Venezuelan forward Jose David Serrano on loan for the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro season with an option to buy from Tlaxcala FC of Mexico’s Liga de Expansion MX. Serrano will occupy an international spot on the Quakes II’s roster.
Serrano, 20, is a left-footed forward from Barinas, Barinas Venezuela. He most recently spent the last year competing for Tlaxcala FC of Mexico’s Liga de Expansion MX, where he made 10 appearances and scored two goals. Prior to joining Tlaxcala FC, Serrano competed for Zamora FC in his native Venezuela. He made 29 appearances for Zamora FC between 2018-21, tallying four goals across 1,131 minutes played.
In 2017, Serrano was called to Venezuela’s U15 youth national team ahead of the 2017 South American U15 Championship. He additionally represented Venezuela at the U17 youth national team level in 2018.
