PORTLAND, Ore. – Earthquakes II defeated Timbers2 2-1 on Friday afternoon at Providence Park in Portland, Ore. Earthquakes II are now 5-1-1 in their last seven matches.
After a scoreless first half, Quakes II opened the scoring in the 68th minute with a goal from 15-year-old Cruz Medina. Rodolfo Castro Jr would double Quakes II’s lead 16 minutes later, adding to his earlier assist. Timbers2 then scored a consolation goal in stoppage time through Blake Bodily.
Earthquakes II will now return to San Jose and prepare to host Real Monarchs on Sunday, July 31. Kickoff from PayPal Park is scheduled for 6 p.m. PT and the match will be broadcast live on MLSNEXTPro.com.
