SAN JOSE, Calif. – Earthquakes II defeated LA Galaxy II 2-1 on Thursday evening at PayPal Park. Quakes II opened the scoring in the 10th minute from forward Jose David Serrano finishing a low cross into the box. Earthquakes II conceded a goal after but rallied back to find the net in the 30th minute from forward Roberto Hategan. A second-half LA II goal would send the match to penalties, where Quakes II would win their third penalty shootout of the season.
Earthquakes II will now prepare to travel to face LAFC2 on Sunday, July 9. The match will kick off from Titan Stadium in Fullerton, Calif. at 5 p.m. PT and will be streamed globally on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app.
