COMMERCE CITY, Co. – Earthquakes II drew 2-2 to Colorado Rapids 2 in regulation and fell 4-2 in a penalty shootout on Sunday evening at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Co. Quakes II opened the scoring in the 34th minute from forward Jack Skahan and doubled their lead from Homegrown Will Richmond in the 59th minute. Rapids 2 would take advantage of an Earthquakes II red card on defender Keegan Tingey to convert a penalty kick in the 83rd and find the equalizer in the last minute of extra time. Quakes II would fall 4-2 in the penalty shootout to earn one point on the road.
Earthquakes II will now return home to host the Tacoma Defiance on Sunday, June 11. The match will kick off from PayPal Park at 4:30 p.m. PT and will be streamed live on MLSNEXTpro.com.
