Melissa Sousa grew up in Manteca before moving to Moraga to attend Saint Mary’s College, where she graduated in May 2019. In 2017 Melissa joined the Giants Community Fund in their Junior Giants organization where she ran her hometown's local league for three seasons. In August 2019, Melissa relocated to Monterey to attend CSU Monterey Bay, where she graduated in May 2022. While there Melissa worked as a behavior technician and spent two years in placement at local mental health facilities in their case management departments. Melissa joined the Earthquakes in April 2022 as the Manager of Player Wellness overseeing the 1st team, Quakes II, and the Academy.
