2017 (San Jose Earthquakes): Played in 25 games making 22 starts … Made his MLS debut in 1-0 win against Montreal on March 4 … Scored five goals, two of those game-winning, and assisted three ... Scored an overtime goal against Minnesota United FC on Oct. 22 to secure the Quakes’ playoff berth for the first time since 2012 …  Made MLS Team of the Week bench during Week 22 … U.S. Open Cup: Did not make appearance … MLS Cup Playoffs: Entered as a substitute at the 62nd minute in a loss against Vancouver Whitecaps FC at BC Place on Oct. 25 in the Knockout Round.

Professional Experience: Came to San Jose after six months with Brondby IF of the top-flight Danish Alka Superligaen, where he appeared in 16 matches, including a pair of Europa League qualifiers … Began his career with LD Alajuelense of the Costa Rican’s first division at just 17 years old … During four years with the team, he tallied nine goals and two assists and helped lead the club to the league championship in both the winter and summer sessions of the 2010-11 season … Then moved to Russian side Kuban Krasnodar just days before his 21st birthday … Tallied two assists in 36 appearances for the club, before joining FC Midtjylland of Denmark on loan in August of 2014 … Then agreed to move permanently to the club upon the expiration of his loan in December of 2014 … With FC Midtjylland, tallied six goals and six assists in 38 appearances and helped the side win the Superliga with a 22-6-5 record … Later moved to Brondby in July of 2016.

International Experience (Costa Rica): Has represented Costa Rica at the U-17, U-20 and senior team levels … Since making his senior team debut at 19 years old in 2009, has tallied 14 goals and four assists in 60 appearances as of December 2017 … Played in four of the team’s five matches at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, scoring one minute into his appearance off the bench in a 3-1 win over Uruguay … Played a critical role in the team reaching the Quarterfinals of the 2014 World Cup where they fell to the Netherlands on penalty kicks … Played crucial role in Costa Rica’s 2018 World Cup qualification appearing in all eight qualification matches in the group stage, tallying three goals … Appeared in Costa Rica’s 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup run helping the team reach the semifinals before eventually losing to future champions USA 2-0 on July 23 … Appeared in international friendly against Spain (5-0 L) on Nov. 11 and Hungary (1-0 L) on Nov. 14.
